Anthony Carter

Sales & Commercial Conversations

Anthony helps coaches become more confident having the conversations that turn genuine interest in their work into clear decisions about working together.

His approach to sales is deliberately free of scripts, pressure and clever closing techniques. Coaching is a relationship, and Anthony believes it should never begin with someone being manoeuvred into saying yes. Instead, he helps coaches bring the same curiosity, honesty and willingness to challenge that they use in coaching into their commercial conversations. The goal is not always a sale. It is a decision that is authentic and grounded in reality.

“
“My aim is straightforward: to help coaches sell with enough clarity and courage to reach an honest decision, whether that decision is yes or no.”

Areas of work

Anthony’s work within the studio includes:

Sales conversations

Understanding what a useful sales conversation needs to accomplish and how to have one without becoming pushy or performative.

Discovery and chemistry calls

Using initial conversations to understand what someone wants, what is happening for them and whether coaching is genuinely an appropriate next step.

Asking better questions

Getting beyond polite conversation to explore needs, concerns, priorities and what someone is actually trying to change.

Clarity and courage

Being willing to ask the question that needs asking, name what you are noticing and have conversations that may occasionally feel uncomfortable.

Talking about your offer

Explaining clearly what you do, how you work and what working together would involve.

Communicating your fee

Stating your price confidently and allowing someone to respond without immediately discounting, apologising or trying to justify it.

Hesitation and concerns

Exploring what sits behind comments such as “I need to think about it” rather than treating every hesitation as an objection to overcome.

Asking for a decision

Becoming comfortable moving a good conversation towards an actual choice rather than leaving both people in an indefinite cloud of “let’s stay in touch.”

Follow-up

Following up clearly and professionally when a decision has not yet been made without slipping into chasing or pressure.

Hearing no

Recognising that a good sales conversation can legitimately end without a sale and becoming more comfortable when it does.
